I’m so excited to introduce my first American mum in this series, Wendy Livingston, CEO, Transformational Coach and Meeting Designer of Adventure-Us Travel! Wow! Hurrah! Wendy has recently launched her signature course, REBEL on the GO, where she teaches a step-by-step process for creating retreats to grow businesses. She ventured on her own after spending almost 30 years in the corporate world as a meeting manager.
She is mom to Becca and Jake, 10 year old twins, and fiancée to Craig, who officially joins the family in May (awwwww). She loves to travel – so far she’s traveled to 37 states, 3 U.S. territories, 7 Canadian provinces and 35 countries. Give it up for Wendy!! xoxoxoxoxoxo
What’s the best thing about being a mum? My role in helping to create healthy, happy, productive adults. Teaching and mentoring are part of being a mom. They are still young enough to love hugs and cuddles!!!
How did you feel the moment your children were born? My unbelievable joy when my son was born was clouded by the difficulties my daughter was having a minute behind him. She ended up in NICU for 8 days. Thankfully, they are both very healthy 10 year olds!!
What do you know now that you wish you’d known before you became a mum? That time goes by so fast. I would have worked less and cherished more.
What do you do to take care of yourself? I’m terrible at taking care of myself! But I’m trying to incorporate exercise into my daily routine. On Monday I start Jazzercise at 5:30 a.m.!
What holds you back? I don’t prioritize myself. Until recently haven’t focused on what happens to everyone/everything if something happens to me?!?
Describe a beautiful moment in your life. I got engaged August 13 on the island of Guam! The kids and I spent the summer there. My then-boyfriend works for the U.S. government on the island and invited us to spend the summer with him. Two days before returning to the mainland, he popped the question. He plotted with the kids for us to canoe to a small island and he dropped to his knee. It was beautiful and special and I loved that the kids were in on the surprise.
What are you grateful for today? It’s 75 degrees (Fahrenheit 🙂) in Maryland today! Love being outside in February!!
